Richard Zugic

Richard has 25 years’ experience in the pensions and life insurance industries. The last year proved to be his most varied, working for an insurer, a new reinsurer and a pensions superfund, respectively in the roles of Phoenix group chief actuary, Phoenix Re interim CFO and Clara-Pensions CFOO. He is also a long-standing trustee of the Abbey Life defined benefit pension scheme. Richard has a strong track record of innovation and delivery. This includes the execution of the industry’s first superfund transaction, the completion of an industry-first programme combining two PRA-approved internal models and the creation of Phoenix’s pension risk transfer proposition. Over the last decade, Richard has helped raise over £150k for charitable causes, notably through social events like the Reindeer Run and the May Day Dash.
