I’m Scott McGruther-Johnson and I’m honoured to be nominated for this award!

I’m a qualified actuary with over 10 years’ experience working in the life industry. I currently work as a consultant with Hymans Robertson, having worked at Capita and Diligenta earlier in my career. Specialising in model validation and audit-style review work, I’ve supported numerous Internal Model validation exercises, developed replicating tools to check compliance with specifications and IFRS 17, and contributed to improving model governance and documentation. I have strong technical skills and enjoy building bespoke tools and automation solutions using VBA to improve accuracy and efficiency.

I’m passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion, and I actively champion psychological safety and wellbeing in the workplace. Outside of work, you’ll find me rambling with my husband and our two labradors.
