Joanna Carter

Jo is a Partner and Actuary in the XPS Pension Group’s Risk Settlement team and specialises in strategic end-game journey planning and buy-in and buyout transactions.  She has more than 20 years’ specialist experience and has advised on 100+ bulk annuity transactions and scheme wind-ups, across all sizes and complexities, including Mitchells & Butlers, Sony, Denso, KeyMed, Celestica and British Vita.  She leads the XPS Risk Settlement team’s relationship programme with insurers, maintaining strong relationships enabling XPS to better serve its clients.

Jo plays a key role in supporting Menopause awareness and XPS’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion networks and is an XPS Menopause Champion, helping colleagues with menopausal symptoms impacting on their work to access the right support.  An important part of this role is to promote menopause awareness, training and initiatives.  She also acts as a mentor to junior members of the team to help guide and advise them and help them develop their careers.
