First, a huge thank you to whoever nominated me for this award! It feels like a fitting pair of actuarial bookends to my journey into motherhood – from discovering I’d won the 2023 Investment Actuary of the Year Award just a day after learning I was pregnant (quite the week!) to receiving this Sustainability Actuary of the Year nomination shortly after returning to work.

I’m grateful to work alongside such talented people in Barnett Waddingham’s Sustainable Investment Team, helping clients to make informed and actionable investment decisions in an increasingly challenging sustainability landscape. I have particularly enjoyed assessing the sustainability credentials of bulk annuity providers, as risk transfer is on the cards for so many schemes now.

Outside of work, life looks a little different these days. Travel has been replaced by chasing after a toddler who’s recently discovered the joy of walking. I still make time for Richard Osman’s House of Games, though — maybe a second award will finally earn me a spot on the show!
